Upgrade to Teamcity 2018.1.3 failed (Linux version)

I just upgraded my Teamcity server (running on Ubuntu 16.04) to version 2018.1.3.

The upgrade seems to have failed because the teamcity server will not start.

I checked the java log and discovered that it couldn't parse the web.xml file that is located in Teamcity/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF because that file is empty!

How can fix this?

I figured this out.

I just deleted the Teamcity server installation and reinstalled a fresh instance.

After that, I pointed it to my existing data directory.

But that was a workaround for failed upgrade - do you have any logs from it ?
