Hi Stan,

Could you explain your use case? There might be solutions that do not include removing the optimization of the build queue.

Hi Denis, it appears teamcity.buildQueue.allowMerging still controls queue optimization at least in version 2018.2. We removed it from one of our major projects after reading this post thinking it was now useless but to our surprise it still controls the queue optimization.

@Denis, if you guys remove it in future versions, please include some way to turn off queue optimization as our use case requires it.

Hi Kevin,

thanks for the heads up. I'm away from my resources now so I cannot confirm exactly what happened (I remember running a text search on the codebase and being unable to find it, but might have missed it in one of the bundled plugins that I hadn't pulled). I have removed the confusing sentence for now and will seek further clarification.

There is an issue in our tracker for it, where it's mentioned it was fixed by adding options in the UI:  https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/TW-20181

If you are still using it, it might be worth watching the issue, maybe consider adding a comment for it with your use case, if the VCS/Schedule trigger options added do not cover it.
