After 2026.1 Upgrade Favorites Project View Shows Archived Projects

We use Project Favorites as our main view into TeamCity. We have a handful of active projects that are favorites.

After upgrading to 2026.1 a couple of days ago, now on our Favorites view ALL Archived projects are now shown. We have many hundreds of projects so this is very much undesirable.

Is this a known issue or regression? Is there a new setting that we need to flip?

Note that we're using the New UI and NOT the Classic UI

Thanks for reaching out to us about this. I tried to reproduce it on my end and was unable to do so. I can click the search bar in the sidebar and click on “Show Archived” there, but they disappear when I click off the search box. As far as I am aware, there's not any setting that would cause them to be shown by default. Would you be able to share a screenshot?

In our case, all 661 Archived Projects are showing. Here's what I see in Edit Favorites:

Thanks for the report and the screenshot, it was very helpful. I was finally able to reproduce this and confirmed it is a new behavior introduced in 2026.1. I also tested the same project layout on 2025.11.3 and the archived sub-projects do not appear on the Favorite Projects page there, so this is new behavior in 2026.1.

To your second question: I don't think there is any setting to flip. The "N Archived Projects" section renders unconditionally on the Favorite Projects page whenever the favorited entity is a parent project that has archived sub-projects. I checked for user preferences and internal properties and did not find one that suppresses it.

I have created a report for your issue: TW-100955: Favorite Projects page: archived sub-projects of favorited parent appear in extra "N Archived Projects" section

Voting on the issue helps prioritize it and automatically subscribes you to updates. Comments left there also reach the development team directly.
