is there any way to make it hard to override build steps? It's too error-prone

This ‘feature’ of overriding build steps when you edit them and are not in the template - it's just about the most error-prone thing I've run across in an IDE.  People are constantly making changes that they mean to go in the template but it's only in a sub-configuration.  This seems like very poor UI design, IMO.  I wish we could make it harder to override a step - just an “are you sure you want to override” dialog would do it.   99.9% of the time I edit a step, I want to edit it for all configurations.  I would not mind having to press ‘yes’ on the rare occasion I do want to override a step…
