It seems like a lot of bugs in TeamCity will only be fixed in Agra (2.0).
Does this mean that existing customers will have to pay for these bugfixes (and for new features a lot of existing customers won't ever use, because if you are currently using svn, ClearCase support is rather uninteresting)?
And how much will an update license be?
Wasn't Agra once called version 1.5?
Especially #1322 is a real concern for us (and probably other Maven users).
Until this bug is fixed, using TeamCity with Maven is really very limited.
I would find it borderline unfair to have to pay again, as Maven functionality was advertised in 1.0 and is implemented really poorly unless it doesn't support the use of modules.

Hello Tobias,
We haven't decided yet whether users will have to pay for upgrade to Agra, and if yes, how much.
Possibly, this will depend on type of TeamCity license (TeamCity/IDEA 6.0) and when it was bought. But again, I cannot say more right now.
That's right, but it looks like we'll add enough functionality to call it 2.0.
Totally agree with you, Maven issues are painful by the moment.
But I have good reasons to believe that the situation will be improved.
With kind regards,
KIR

Hello,
Due to annoying bug "Agents" page stops to show "install agent link" in this
EAP build. Attached are modifed JSP files with this bug fixed. Please
overwrite JSP from build with newer files.

Kir,
This is critical info for us as we are about to go live with
TeamCity and shut down our existing build system.
The decision as to what version of TeamCity we go live
with (1.2 or a beta of 2.0) will be based on what, if any,
additional fees are involved. Much of the reason I would
like to use Agra when we go live is based on fixed bugs
in 2.0 as well improved functionality particularly with
regard to using Perforce VCS. Critical new features for
us are dependent builds and the ability to use multiple
sandboxes in a single project.
Will there be an announcement when you have decided
on Agra upgrade strategy?
Thanks,
-Dave
I have to say, in my opinion it would be a most unfortunate decision to charge for moving to version 2.0, since the bugs in 1.x have prevented us from fully using the product in the first place. In effect, the early users of TeamCity have been acting as beta testers, and through our feedback, contributing directly toward helping TeacmCity realize its potential.
Thank you,
Eric

Tobias, Eric, Dave, everyone,
The official decision has been made about upgrade policy to Agra -
existing customers will be able to upgrade with no additional fees.
