When is Git support coming?
I noticed on your TC4 announcement blog post (http://blogs.jetbrains.com/teamcity/2008/11/28/teamcity-40-released/) that Git support is on its way - great! Can you give us a rough timeframe for when it should become available?
Thanks,
Ondrej

Ondrej,
We do plan to address Git support in TeamCity after it will be bundled with IDEA.
It's a bit too early to announce the date, but my expectations are that the EAP of Git support should be started within the next several months.

Yegor -
Sorry, I am unclear:
Will TeamCity be bundled with IDEA ? If so, when is that planned ?

Nope, that's not the case. We just plan release GIT support module after
such module will be bundled into IDEA.

So... that IDEA8.1 with git support is out, how long will we have to wait before we get git support in TC?
Are you guys using git internally? What VCS are you using (if you are allowed to say).
Jacques
Development of the Git support is already started. Perforce and Subversion are used in the most of the projects in Jetbrains. Some of the IDEA developers are using Git too.
Cool. Any approximate ETA?
Hi Jacques,
The approximate ETA for TC 4.1 (with Git support) is the end of the March.
The approximate ETA for first TC 4.1 EAP is the beginning of the next week. But, I believe, it won't contain Git support yet.

KIR
*bump*, I am also eagerly awaiting Git support. I can not use TeamCity now, since we only use Git for our projects.
Edit: I saw this: http://github.com/chrisortman/git-teamcity/
Please take a look here:

Note that this is a third party plugin but it seems to be working/
An update on Git support in TeamCIty: we released an EAP version of Git support for TeamCity. See details at http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TW/Git
Any feedback is highly appreciated.

Hi Yegor!
Unfortunately it doesn't show up as an option in the combo box. Is it possible to include git support in the normal release instead?
Peter,
If the option "Git (JetBrains)" does not appear in the VCS type chooser, most probably that the plugin is not properly installed. Can you please doublecheck you performed all the steps as described on the plugin page? Is there any related logging in the teamcity-server.log on the server start?
The plugin will be bundled with TeamCity when it is tested enough and reaches production quality. The term directly depends on the feedback we receive from the users who tried the EAP verison of the plugin.
