I am having some difficulty getting TeamCity to run a build.  I am running VS 2008 with the following installed components:

When I attempt to run the project in TeanCity I get:

[13:28:43]: RunBuildException when running build stage CallRunnerStage: Cannot find build file by path specified in build configuration settings: 'C:\Checking' (absolute path on agent). Please check that specified path is correct.

The solution (working copy) is located in: C:\Checking\

Reversion for the solution is kept in: C:\Repositories\Checking\trunk\Checking\

I readily confess that the configuration of my project in TeamCity is rather bewildering and I rather expect the solution to my problem may be quite simple although elusive for someone of my limited experience with the tools I am using.  I hope you can get me pointed in the right direction.

TeamCity contains of two main part. The server (which procides UI) and the build agent.

Build agent fetches sources of the project to a local directory and starts build from this folder using Build Runner.

What was shown in the error message means that there was no such build script file found. What build runner was used?

Please note, in most cases you do not need to specify either build checkout directory or build working directory. Build agent will use a checkout folder per build configurations with same version control settings.

For VS2008 build runner you need to specify relative path to .sln file. Relative means a path relative to build configuration checkout vcs root.


Please attach Version control files tree and your build configuration settings.

        Configure Build Agent properties file dialog is shown while the installation process. You should press 'Save' there to make is disappear in order to continue.
