How do run a build agent outside of a windows service?

I need to do some funky UI stuff and would really like to be able to run an agent outside of a windows service - can this be done?

  • for Windows: <installation path>\bin\agent.bat start
  • for Linux and MacOS X: <installation path>\bin\agent.sh start

Thank you Micheal, i actually moved this thread over to http://devnet.jetbrains.net/message/5319201#5319201 becaue of the whole '15 minutes to mark it as a question' thang.
