"Password is empty" on Windows 7
Hello, folks.
I'm probabaly relatively new to TeamCity, but having worked with it for the last month, I realized this is such a powerful build management tool.
Now I'm trying to get it to work on my personal Windows 7 computer. I installed it and it came to a point where I create an administrator account. When I entered all the information and clicked on "Create Account" button, I got "Password is empty" error. Please see the attached image for actual error.
According to my search, my browser doesn't have JavaScript enabled, but I don't think that's the case. I tried it with Chrome, IE and FireFox, but all the browsers ended up with the same result.
One thing I noticed it that I don't see C:\Users\[MyUserName]\.BuildServer folder doesn't exist. I simply followed the installer, so I would think the installer would create the folder by default, but it's not there.
I use Windows 7 with Japanese language pack. I wonder if that caused something.
Please let me know if there is anything I should do to get TeamCity to work on my environment.
TIA

Login page in TeamCity requires JS to be enabled. So most likely it's the cause of the problem.
OK, so before I posted my question here, I did my research on this issue and found the same answer as yours. However, I tried 3 different browsers and the issue still persisted.
Now, when you say JS, does it mean JavaScript? Or is it something else?
Sorry, I meant JavaScript must be enabled.
Hello, Peter.
Thank you for your reply.
JavaScript is actually enabled, so I don't think that's the issue. I've dug around the server log, but I haven't found a clue yet.
Can you think of anything else that could cause this error?
I asked about JavaScript because you wrote:

Could you please explain what you meant?
Hello,
It means that the error "Password is empty" is occuring even though my browsers have JavaScript enabled. Is there anything else I should take a look?
Please take a look if there are JavaScript errors in the browser?
No, there is no error...
So the possibility of the cause of this error is only because of JavaScript being turned off? As far as I see, my browser does have JavaScript turned on, but I still get this error message.
Any log I can take a look at?
Here is what I noticed.
When I installed TeamCity on a relatively unpatched Windows 7, I was able to install it and create an admin account, but when I tried to created an admin account on a completely patched Windows 7 with Windows Update, I get "Password is empty" error.
So I think it has to do with one of the updates that I applied, but I can't tell which one.
I think it's worth reproducing this error though I'm sure majority of TeamCity is installed on server OS.
