Is it possible to have the Perforce plugin sync to a non-label version?

I would like to be able to pass a TC configuration a parameter for what CL it should sync to.

Is this possible with the stock Perforce plugin?

Is it possible to "wrap" the existing Perforce plugin with new functionality?
