After upgrade to 2020.1.5 cannot use local git repo as CVS on a Windows machine

In TC 2019 I used to have a CVS root that had a fetch URL of the kind "file:///Y:/Accublate_Repo" where Y: is a mapped drive.

After upgrading to TC 2020.1.5 this URL does not work any longer. TC complains that it cannot access the path. I am running the agent NOT as a service, and just to be sure, I have tried also with a repo on C:, the local drive, and I have the same results, the git repository is not recognized.

Has anything changed between version 2019 and 2020.1.5 which might affect this setup?

Any help / suggestion is welcome, as I am unable to use TC any longer, all my repos are on Windows ...
