xcodebuild continues running after build cancelled

We have large Xcode projects, with long build times. When we manually cancel an Xcode build through TeamCity, the xcodebuild process on the agent continues running, even though TeamCity claims the build is cancelled.

Which version of teamcity are you using? Which version of the OS? Does this happen all the time or just on some instances?
TeamCity Professional 2019.1.3 (build 66439)
macOS 10.14.6
Xcode 10.2.1
We're only in the evaluation phase with TeamCity (which is going very well), and this is the only Mac agent I've tried so far, but this issue with xcodebuild does happen with every build.
Could you please share some details about your build configuration, what type of project are you building, and especially what is being built when the build is cancelled and the xcodebuild process remains running.
As a option could you please share a build log with teamcity-support@jetbrains.com ?
