TeamCity API - Delete old backups

We are currently running TeamCity in Kubernetes and have a need to delete older backups.  I don't have the option to create a cron job or other automated job to delete.  I need to be able to do it via API call.  I currently backup and download automatically with API call.  Please let me know if there is a way to keep TC disk drive clean.
