Unable to retrieve Git source control from VSO

Answered

I recently upgraded to TeamCity 10.0.01 and started receiving this error message when attempting to retrieve source from VSO Git:

[[F:\TeamCity\buildAgent\work\c586b7f04ce598b9]: "C:\Program Files\Git\bin\git.exe" -c credential.helper=F:\TeamCity\buildAgent\temp\buildTmp\credHelper420839085308783938.bat -c core.askpass=F:\TeamCity\buildAgent\temp\buildTmp\pass1076175119355112366.bat fetch --progress origin +refs/heads/master:refs/remotes/origin/master] Fatal: InvalidOperationException encountered.

My VSO Project has spaces in the project name as follows: "My Report Conversion", however, I have escaped the characters that contain %20 with an extra % sign to accommodate this issue.

When I test the connection in my VCS settings, it connects fine, but when I attempt to actually execute my build, the build consistently fails.

I am running TeamCity on Windows Server 2012 R2 with Git 2.93 64-bit.

Please advise as to how to resolve this issue.

Thanks.

Hello Samir,

It looks like the same issue: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/TW-46668. Please install the git-plugin linked from the issue, it contains a fix. Or you can disable credential manager on the agent as described here.

Please let me know if it helps.

Thanks for the tip Alina, I was able to disable the credential helper to work around this in my situation, hopefully the originally poster was able to work around or update the plugin.
