Using TeamCity with limited users

I understand that ideally everyone in the organization would have a TeamCity license. But what if that is not financially feasible?

How useful is TeamCity if you have say, just one license for the 'build monitor' of the week that rotates among the team?

Do you really need an account per developer for TeamCity to be useful?

Thanks,
Keith

I would say it is still useful. Since there is a guest mode that gives you much of the information, you can still track the builds fairly well. The biggest downside is that you do not get email/IM notification this way. Having licensed users is a big plus, though. Some of the cooler functions only work if you are licensed (such as delayed commit) and wouldn't work well under a shared scenario.

The fact that an IDEA 6 license gives you a licensed user in TeamCity makes it pretty hard to stay away.
