concurrent builds

this may be a really silly question... but I ask it nevertheless ;)

Is there a way to run multiple builds on one build machine? (for different projects)
in other words: run a build for project 1 and project 2 at the same time on the same build machine?
If so, how to configure it?

Michael,

If you want just to utilize the machine resources, you can install several build agents on one computer (install into different directories and make sure they have distinct "name" and "ownPort" in conf\buildAgent.properties file). This basically will give you two build agents that run independently.

You can find more about installing build agent in our online documentation at http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TCD3/Installation#Installation-installingBuildAgents

Thanks for the answer, just what I needed :)

Yegor,

Is this the only way to do this in TeamCity 3? That would take up our available bundled Build Agent licenses pretty quickly.

Ray,

A build agent can only run single build at a time, so there is not other way to run several builds on the same machine then to install several build agents.

At the same time I'd consider the case not a very common one: several builds running on the same machine can easily introduce a bottleneck (be it disk operations, memory or CPU usage).
