Yes, it does. Thus TeamCity server should be installed on windows for using
SourceSafe.
It supports both VSS 6.0d and 2005. Any of those client will match.

In order to use TeamCity with SourceSafe, does SourceSafe need to be
installed on the TeamCity server?
