TeamCity 3.0 Visual Studio 2005 PlugIn ..

Hi:

I have the plugin for Visual Studio 2005 installed.

However, when I try to log in and give it the build machine url, userid and password, it never gets past the version check for the plugin. It repeatedly asks me to download and install the plugin.

Anyone seen this behaviour?

Hello,

Please do the following:
- open solution
- try to login
- on the upgrade dialog, when cancel button is selected please press CTRLALTCAPSLOCK

What is show on that dialog for the server version and for plugin version?

Does TeamCity plugin have write access to it's installation folder?

What server version do you use?

Any way, as a workaround, please uninstall all 'TeamCity plugIn's from you
machine,
make sure there are no files from it on the system, download and install
new plugin
from TeamCity server.

Was that first install of TeamCity plugin or were there some upgrades? From
what versions?

Do you have file serverVersion.properties.xml ("C:\Program Files\JetBrains\TeamCity\Vs2005Plugin\Bin\serverVersion.properties.xml")?

Please post it.

I tried this a couple of times before. Just did the whole thing again. Made sure there was nothing in the registry, too. This is the only TeamCity plugin I have installed on my machine. No upgrades.

It did not work. It again pops up that window that says "TeamCity Integration is Outdated".

Hello,
Thats really strange that server does not able to report it's version to
plugin.
Could you please try to capture network traffic between VS and TeanCity
server.
(use Wireshark for it, if possible)

Could you please attach logs of VS plugin:
- close all instances of VS
- Open c:\documents and settings\]]>\Local Settings\Temp\JetLogs
- delete all files there
- start VS
- open solution
- try to log in to TeamCity
- close VS
- Attach newly created file under the folder you cleaned

Thanks! Could you please capture traffic between VS and TeamCity server.

Could you please check if server url to download update and server url you
log in
are the same. Please try installing TeamCity plugin form Server, not from
upgrade
message suggestion.
