Need Help Getting Started ...

Hi Folks,

Just downloaded TeamCity in my first stab at incorporating CI into my development process. The problem: I have no idea what in the hell I'm doing :)

Are there any step-by-step tutorials for someone like myself?

I'd really like to learn how to automate nightly integration and QA builds for several ASP.NET apps I'm working on. The majority of my work is on .NET projects using VS2005 and VS2008 (if that matters).

Anything to help get me started in the right direction would be appreciated!

Thanks - wg

Hello,

All documentation is available online at
http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TCD3/TeamCity+Documentation
http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TCD3/CreateEditBuild+Configuration

Please have a look on it.

TeamCity is able to start your build using MSBuild runner. Also it is possible
to
start compilation of your project from Visual Studio solution file (VS2003,
VS2005 and VS2008).

To set it up, please have a look at
http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TCD3/Build+Runner

Also it is possible to set up build with build script written using NAnt.

To start build of Solution, please use
http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TCD3/sln2005 - sln2005 - for
solution of VS2008
http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TCD3/sln2008 - sln2008 - for
solution of VS2008

It is possible to add run of NUnit tests as a part of build.

Please note to change user account for TeamCity server service and build
agent service to
user with enough rights to run builds.

Thanks! Please fill free asking any questions!
