Pushing a notification rule

To date my users have been using email notifications that are set for specific builds, not all builds. This means that as new build configurations are added they do not get notifications for them. Is there a plan for a method for an admin to push notifcation rules out to lazy users? Or is this another candidate for a plugin?

Why not configure only one notification rule for my changes?

Because it's not always 'my' change that matters. It is more often a change made by somebody else further upstream that causes the builds to break. So not only should the build breaker be made aware but anybody with an interest in the subsystem being built or tested. And generally QA people want to know about most failures.

Ok, I understand this. You can configure notification rule to watch all configurations of a project but if it does not help too and if your use case is to allow administrator to manage notification rules of other users then please watch/vote for this issue: http://jetbrains.net/tracker/issue/TW-1422

That's a decent option but in my case I have set up my projects by branch and within the project are a bunch of subsystem test builds. Consider:

Project: dev branch
Builds:
- Master build
- Subsystem 1 test build
- Subsystem 2 test build
- Subsystem 3 test build

In this setup all users care about the master build and their subsystem. They don't necessarily care about the other subsystems unless their change caused failures. So adding a rule for the whole project will work but it will cause them to get messages for two subsystems that they aren't interested in. Plus if I then create another project for another branch then they have no notifications for that new project.

An alternative might be for a project copy to have an option to also copy user notification rules relating to that project.

I've voted for the bug that you referenced.

Thanks,
Tom
