Viewing Unix format artifacts

Hello.

When opening a unix formatted (ie new-line terminated strings only) artifact, there are no linebreaks of the file displayed in the browser.

Any ideas on how to get this to display correctly?

Cheers

Hello,

This does not seem to be related to TeamCity, just to the way a browser displays the file content.

You should probably use a viewer that is capable to detect differet flawors of newlines instead of the browser.

Not sure that is the case.
I'm using IE7 and pointing the browser directly to the artifact file, it displays correctly.
When clikking the artifact link from within TC it displays without linebreaks.

There can be differences in  how IE opens files locally or remotely.

Can you please try to reproduce this with a web application other then TeamCity?

What file extension do you have? Do you have a program associated with the extension?
Can you pelase attach a sample file?

Sorry, no other WEB application is at hand at the moment.

The file in question is without an extension, containing plain text with only the Unix \n as the line terminator.
When in IE and doing a View Source, it looks OK. (it is 50 rows of tabulated ASCII entries)
I cannot post the file here, since it contains names and email adresses, sorry.

I can try giving it an extension, but this artifact is grabbed by other tools in the chain so they will need updating too.

It seems to be related to no extension. I've filed an issue to address that, please see http://jetbrains.net/tracker/issue/TW-7768

Did not make it to TC 4.5 (8944)
Same issue with *.log files.
*.txt files are OK.
