Remote Run with VS2008 & TFS doesn't seem to work

Hi,

I was intrigued to try out this functionality so I installed the VS plugin, added a new test method (just Assert.Fail()) to a library which is already compiled and tested by my TeamCity server and then executed remote run. My expectation was that my personal build would fail but in fact it's reporting success.
I can see my personal build on the server and I can also see the un-committed file change in the list of changes, however this change does not seem to be used by the compiler on the server.

Am I doing anything wrong?

BTW, I found this issue in v 4.5.1, upgraded to v4.5.3 but the problem is still there.

Hello,

TFS checkout on agent breaks personal runs in TC 4.5.x. The workaround is to use server checkout for TFS.
This is a known issue and it is fixed in TeamCity 5.0 (trunk)

Hi Eugene,

Changing the VCS setting as indicated works, thanks.

BTW, I see that remote run for TFS is only available via the VS plug-in, we use TS also for checking in Java code using the Teamprise Ecliple plug-in for TFS, are there any plans to support remote run for TFS with the TeamCity Eclipse plug-in? If not, are there other ways that Java developers could use remote run?

We have no such plans to support TFS from Eclips yet. Feel free to post an issue to our tracker at http://jetbrains.net/tracker/

Thanks!
