set value from nant and have teamcity use it for tagging name

Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way to create a 'Property' in teamcity, set the value during the nant file running, and then use that property to name the teamcity 'Label' when the build is complete?  It seems that I can attempt to set it via nant, but it does not persist up into teamcity after nant has finished running.

Can I do this with an "Environment" variable setup through TeamCity for my build configuration?

Currently this is not possible. Labeling is done by the TeamCity server and server will not know exact environment variables and system properties used when build ran. The only way to do what you want is to label sources in the build script itself.

Hi Tommy!

I've used to change a special variable available within TeamCity server from a script run on an agent.
But... it's a special property: system.build.number. That can be used for labelling.

The feature you're asking for could be great...

Regards,

Olivier.
