SQL error when doing: Connecting to HSQLDB

Installed TeamCity 5.0 and copied BuildServer and BuildAgent folders from earlier version. I am not using database with either of these versions. After I installed when I try to go to TeamCity page, I get the following error. My question is why is it trying to connect to database when I am not using database? Thanks in advance for your insights and suggestions.

By default, TeamCity runs using an internal database that uses the HSQLDB database engine.
This exception may be caused by damage to the database files that are stored in the .BuildServer directory. Please refer to Upgrade documentation to verify the steps taken during the upgrade.
If it's not your case  and all steps have been taken according to instructions please provide teamcity-server.log(s).
