Problem with ClearCase

Hi

I'm trying to test ClearCase with Teamcity and running into this error:

Error collecting changes for VCS root 'ClearCaseRoot'
jetbrains.buildServer.vcs.VcsException: Process cleartool lshistory -eventid -recurse -since 05-May-2010.08:41:15 -fmt %u#--#%Nd#--#%En#--#%m#--#%Vn#--#%o#--#%e#--#%Nc#--#%[activity]p###----###\n E:\ViewStoreSnapShots\S_BuildView_WVP\W_Products returns -1

When running into this error, the CPU runs on 100 percent, consumed by the tomcat6.exe.

It is a Snapshot view with a main/LATEST configspec. ClearCase system is BASE. The TeamCityVersion 5.1.1.

Has anyone an idea, what I'm doing wrong? Please dont hesitate to ask for details.

Regards, Torsten

Hi again

The error is back again. The CPU utilization jumps up to almost 100 percent while the status says Running. The log says: "Building clean patch for VCS root". The checkout directory is not filling. A look in Processmonitor says, that one instance of cleartool keeps staying.

After a while the wegui prompts a configuration error (see above). This error is not in the log and build keeps running.

I have tried it with static and dynamic views. I have tried to reinstall Teamcity. Nothing worked.

This seems to be a bug in Teamcity. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

it seems like there was a problem on the build server. Now it works.

Hello,

Is this command executed correctly if you run it manually in command line? Does it have a big output?

Can you please provide me your TC server debug logs? I need the "teamcity-clearcase.log" and "teamcity-vcs.log" files. See http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/TCD5/Reporting+Issues#ReportingIssues-VersionControlDebugLogging for information about enabling debug logging on your server.

Hi,

Thanks for pointing to the logs. I did not know about them. Just starting to work with TeamCity. I think I have made a step further in understanding what the problem is:

After adding a new cvsroot, TeamCity starts to scan this root. This step takes the 100 percent cpu utilization. After waiting a few hours, the utilization drops down.

When adding the cvsroot and after that starting the build, the server cant process the cleartool request, because it is busy with scanning . After a certain timeout Teamcity pops up with a configuration problem.

Does that make sense?

Hi,

adding a vcsroot seems not to be the problem. So I have no idea again.

I have attached all logs. I hope this helps.

Edit: I think this threads describe the same problem:

http://www.jetbrains.net/devnet/message/5202481#5202481

Edit: I think this describes a solution: http://youtrack.jetbrains.net/issue/TW-3797. Is sth done on this?
