Pre-tested commits in Eclipse plugin on a large project

Has anybody used pretested commits in eclipse on a large project base?
I have about 20 projects in eclipse (most of them closed) and when I try to run the build the plugins refreshes every single project (even those that are closed!) and it takes ages.
Especially on one project that has many small files, I have to wait there for few minutes.
Am I the only one with such problems? We were planning to use the pretested commits for our project, but if it will be much slower than a normal subclipse commit, nobody will use it.
