AuthorizationFailedException

I'm trying to configure SMTP in TeamCiity and I'm getting the AuthorizationFailedException with no other information.  I'm certain the information: host, username, password etc... is correct.  I also attempted to use GMail, but I received the same exception.  Any pointers for troubleshooting or resolving the issue would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Aeden

Hi

Could you list all the Email Notifier settings or just show screenshot, how it connects to Gmail, please.

And one more thing, what is full name of the exception you're getting?

Thanks

Here are the gmail settings I used

host: smtp.gmail.com
port: 465
email from: team.city@gmail.com
login: team.city
password: some-password
Use SSL: checked

The full exception I get with gmail settings is

Connection failed!
javax.mail.SendFailedException: Invalid Addresses;
  nested exception is:
javax.mail.SendFailedException: 553-5.1.2 We weren't able to find the recipient domain. Please check for any
553-5.1.2 spelling errors, and make sure you didn't enter any spaces, periods,
553 5.1.2 or other punctuation after the recipient's email address. o17sm4890417fal.1

When I use the settings for our smtp server, which I can't show you, the only line in the test connection window is:

javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException

It seems as two independent issues.

"We weren't able to find the recipient domain" error came from Gmail side, so TeamCity can successfully connect to SMTP server, but Gmail itself cannot deliver the notification. Try

  1. re-check recipient's email address once again.
  2. send notification to an address in a different domain.
  3. Manually send a message from Gmail to your problem recipient address.

AuthenticationFailedException means your local SMTP server rejects the credentials.
Specifying "user" login instead of "user@domain.com" may be a reason.
Please re-check you can send messages from desktop email client using the same options.
