Database Backup

Hi,

Currently we use mysqldump to create an export of our teamcity database then we zip it up.  Does maintainDB do anything differently?  It also mentions in the [Backup Instructions|http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/TCD65/Creating+Backup+via+maintainDB+command-line+tool] you should stop the TeamCity server.  Is this enforced?  Is it bad that we run a dump whilte TeamCity is running?
