EMail Notifier - Connection refused: connect

Hey all,

We are running TC Enterprise 6.5.4 (build 18046), and are having some issues with the EMail Notifier.  When configured in the TC GUI, we get the below error message:

javax.mail.MessagingException: Could not connect to SMTP host: smtp.amer.[our domain].lcl, port: 25;
  nested exception is: Connection refused: connect

But, a local console session on the TeamCity server provides successful telnet/smtp connection and session, below: [I have edited the domains for privacy.]

So the sessions and emails work fine via telnet on the TC server, but it does not work from TC mailer.  Any ideas?

Hi Patrick,

Can there be some limitations on the network operatins for the java process TeamCity runs in? Or for the user TeamCity process runs as?

May be you can try to monitor the packets via Wireshark/etc. to see if the connection is actually established?

As a wild guess I'd also try to specify server IP in TeamCity and in console.
