I have an existing TeamCity server and 2 agents. I would like to look into some "fail-over" solution.
My idea is to
a) backup the existing server
b) set up 2nd server
c) import the existing server's configuration (but not agents) from the backup
In case the existing build server machine is down, I am hoping to simply disconnect the agents and reconnect them to a new server.
This seems a natural extension of the Build Grid approach.
Is this workflow officially supported? Unsupported, but can reasonably be hacked? Not possible on first principles? Been there?
Running 6.5.6, could upgrade. In fact, upgrading by migrating to a new server while keeping the old one unchanged is one of the scenarios.
Any insights appreciated. Thanks -- b.
