v6.0 TeamCity/temp maintenance

We have about 12GB of data under the TeamCity/temp directory mostly in sub-directories named TC-TFS*.     Can the TC-TFS* sub-directories be deleted without any negative side effects?

Is there a document that describes best practices for clearing out all cached sources from the server and agents?
