VS2010 solution not building due to project dependencies

Hi,

Just started using TeamCity and having some initial problems. We have a Visual Studio 2010 solution that contains a mixture of C#, C++ DLL, and C++ Lib projects (84 projects in total). When we build from within Visual Studio or from the command line using MSBUILD the solution builds fine. When we build from TeamCity the build fails and it looks like it is not taking in to account any of the project dependencies set up for the C++ projects. For C# projects it looks like it takes in to account project references - and I see that in the log but I don't see anything related to project dependencies in the log. Specifically we have a C# assembly that references a C++ DLL and the C++ DLL has a project dependency (set in the VS solution) on a C++ library project. When TeamCity builds our solution it tries to build the C++ DLL before it has built the C++ library and therefore fails.

Is this a known issue with TeamCity and is there a known workaround for this?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Graham

Hi Graham,

I think it's a known issue (not necessarily with TeamCity itself). The discussion in http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/TW-5385 may shed some light on the problem you are seeing.

Best regards,
Oleg.
