Slow installation of TeamCity Visual Studio Addin

I just installed the TeamCity Visual Studio Addin 7.1 (build 24170) into Visual Studio 2010 (10.0.40219.1 SP1Rel), and the installation is very slow. The installer takes a long time at the step where it says "Uninstalling from VS 2010". After about 20 minutes at this step, the installer shows the message in the attached screenshot.

The installer then proceeds through several more steps and spends about 20 minutes at the "Installing into VS 2010" step before showing the same error message again.

The installer says it completes successfully. Upon launching Visual Studio, there is a message shown: "The item 'extension.vsixmanifest' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, so this shortcut will no longer work properly". After selecting the option to delete the shortcut (which was apparently the shortcut to the 7.0 addin), Visual Studio eventually opens successfully.

The installer does not appear to be using much CPU when it is running, and my CPUs are nearly idle during this time.

Has anyone else seen this slow performance?

I recall that when I installed earlier versions of the TeamCity Visual Studio Addin (7.0, 6.5, etc) I also experienced slow install times.

I am running Windows 7. I also have ReSharper 6.1.1000.82 installed.

Jeffrey,
This is a known issue in VS 2010 installation process and it is common for all JetBrains .NET product installers (e.g. ReSharper, TeamCity Addin, etc).
Technically, in some cases VS 2010 launched by installer in non-interactive mode in order to register new extension tries to show some modal dialog and hangs.
So it is ok to kill devenv.exe manually in this case or wait until installer shows you the message from attached screenshot. VS 2010 and TeamCity Addin should work perfectly after that.
