Anyone got any clues as to why a Visual Studio Web Project exits with code 1?

I've got a clean install of Team City 8 on Windows Server 2008 Web and I've set up and checked in a project from Visual Studio 2010 which has a DLL and an MVC3 web project.

The DLL project builds ok but the web project exits with code 1. I can't find any actual error (and it builds fine from Visual Studio on my development box) I just don't know what to check next....

note: previously the web project failed because it couldn't find \Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets - I resolved this by installing a VS201 shell pack onto the server (as I found some Stack Overflow posts that said this was the best solution)

I've not run into trouble building MVC projects on Team City 7 - but then, I didn't set up the original install that time, so I can't say if there were some hoops to jump through to get it working initially...

Is there any way to get a better error message when something like this happens? A log file I should check? Are there any gotchas when building MVC3 web projects that I might have overlooked?

Any pointers would be helpful :)

Hi Tyco,

You should be able to see the compilation error details in the Build Log tab.

In coming TeamCity 8.0.2 compilation errors details will be shown on Overview tab (you can find details in issue TW-30188).
