Feature branch name for default branch

Hi, I'm using TeamCity 8.0.5, and I'm *trying* to use the feature branch syntax.  The problem I'm running in to is that while the branches in the branch specification use the nice shortened syntax, a build on the default branch does not.

My VCS settings look something like this:

Default branch:  featureBranch-1.2.3

Branch specification :  +:refs/heads/featureBranch-(*)

I want the bit in the (*) to be my branch name for all builds.

What I'd like is to be able to do something like this:

Build number format:  %teamcity.build.branch%.%build.counter%

and if I select something other than the default branch, that's exactly what I get.  However, if I do a build on the default branch, my build number ends up being the string <default>. followed by the build number.  Is there a way to set the build branch to use the branch specification for ALL branches, including the default branch?  Or, is there another variable that contains the information I'm looking for?  Is this possible?  Thanks!

Do you have only one VCS root in this configuration?

Yes, all our different build configurations are only using a single vcs root each.

It looks like this parameter is overwritten on server. Please use buildNumber reporting via service message instead: http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/TCD8/Build+Script+Interaction+with+TeamCity#BuildScriptInteractionwithTeamCity-ReportingBuildNumber
