"Getting project sources" Potential Bottleneck

I often see several builds all in the "Getting project sources" or "Checking for changes" state at the same time. Since we have all our builds set for checkout on the server, I was wondering if that was a potential bottleneck and might affect performance? We are using CVS.

Hi Tim,
it depends on you server. We allow several builds to get sources at the same
time for the same project, but your server can work more slowly if there are
several working connections, I guess. And I think if there are several
agents getting sources (not on server) it is the same for server from vcs
server performance point of view.

The only performace problem with server synchronization issues I see is
project cannot check changes for starting build before there is "checking
for changes" active process for the same project and has to wait for its
finish.
