Massive check-in broke TC 1.2?

Hiya,

After a major refactor and checking the source files back into VSS TC is
now giving a “Problems with VCS conn….” error for all projects. “Edit Visual
SourceSafe Settings” TestConnection works fine and VSS is still operating
normally. CPU usage is at 100% almost all the time except for little breaks
when TC-VSS-Native process thread aborts? and restarts. The builds even work
although it takes a lot longer because of the CPU usage.

We tried cleanup, reboot without success.

Hello Chad,

Could you please describe your VCS (How many files, folders, changes).

As a workaround, please try creating new project with same VCS settings.

Did VSS support work before massive refactor?

Could you please try to send me files from Tomcat temp directory named
like TC-[some digits].*.

Hello Eugene,

VCS... probably around 2500 files total.. the check-in was about 150 modified
files..

I've tried recreating the project but still the same problem...
Also tried archiving the VSS db toot contents and restoring it in a new db,
the pointing to the new db without success.
Different vss user, not working.
Uninstalled, reinstall TC...
restored buildserver config... not working
new buidserver config... not working

restored VSS db backup... Working!!!!

restored broken VSS db... did Admin cleanuptemp and purged deleted... not
working
archived VSS db source folder contents and restoring it in a new db... not
working

moved the VSS project directory from $/Sources.root/Sources/LSS_Main to $/LSS_Main.....
cpu prob stopped... running the build says gettings sources but directory
is empty so build fails..

conclusion...
VSS works fine out of TC... Must be some VSS "feature" that TC doen't like
or know about...

I'm restoring my VSS database... How much fun was that grrrrr

Please, outline, in what case did TC works with VSS.

Hello Eugene,

TC started working again after I restored my full backup from the day before.
That is the full VSS subdirectory.

Restored VSS db backup to newly created db, or not?

Tried restoring the root $ archive as well as a sub archive to no avail.

How much time did it takes to analize changes and create patch before
that massive check-in?

That one took a couple of minutes.. annoyingly long but can't really say
accurately.

Sorry for the lack of info, if/when time permits I'll see if I can slap together
a broken VSS db for you guys.

Regards,
