Can't create Build Configuration

I just installed the evaluation version of TeamCity 2.1.1 (downloaded 27 Sept 2007) and can create a project and test my Subversion connection successfully, however I cannot create a Build Configuration. When I go through the first page for creating a build configuration I type in everything and go on to the Build Runner step. I then create a Maven2 build runner with all the necessary fields filled in and click Save, but at this point the page shows a loading animation (spinning arrows) and then all the fields are cleared out and I am still on the Build Runner page. Nothing I try seems to change this; can bounce the server and my projects are still there but they have no build configurations. I tried turning the logging level for teamcity-server and activities to DEBUG but didn't see anything helpful in any of those logs. Is there another log setting I can try to get a better idea of why this is not saving?

Here are some environment specifics:
RedHat EL3
HSQL database
jdk 1.5.0_11
Subversion
Maven 2.0.6

Any thoughts or pointers?

Thanks!
John

Hello,

Please try to repeat the scenario you described, but when you'll be on the
Build Runner step try to clear browser cache before pressing Save button
(while holding Shift button click on the Refresh icon in your browser
toolbar).

If it won't work then please tell me in what browser do you experience such
behaviour? Also we need to know what servlet container do you use (bundled
with TeamCity if you installed .tar.gz or your own if you installed .war)
and its version.

Hi Pavel, clearing browser cache didn't help. But running from IE6 did. I had been using Firefox 2.0.0.7 without luck and then this morning tried IE6 and I was able to create the build configuration fine! By the way I am using the bundled servlet container with TeamCity build 4261.

Now that the build runner has been saved (from IE6) I can modify it and continue on to build triggering in Firefox. Perhaps an Ajax snafu in Firefox?

Anyway I still don't know what the cause is but I am now able to continue creating my build configuration.

Another browser issue: adding a new windows tray notification rule caused an error "Error accessing server" in Firefox 2.0.0.7 but worked fine in IE6. I'm submitting a bug report now.

Do you use a proxy server in Firefox?

Is it possible to check whether build configuration creation works in
Firefox without proxy?

Yes, http.

Yes that actually works perfectly! I updated my network.proxy.no_proxies_on preference in Firefox (about:config) to include the TeamCity host and all is well.

Thanks!
