Is TeamCity3.1.1 compatible with Starteam 2008.

Hi,

I am running into issues while trying to configure the VCS Settings for my Build Configuration. We are using Starteam as the VCS tool in our project and I was able to set up the build configuration with Starteam 2006. But recently we upgraded to Starteam 2008, and from then on I am not able to establish a connection to starteam.

When I try to create a new VCS Setting, I get the following error
"Connection failed!. Could not locate Star Team SDK. Please ensure it is installed and put SDK's starteam*.jar into ]]>/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib directory".

I have installed the Star Team SDK and have placed the "starteam100.jar"(of Starteam 2008) in the appropriate folder. I am not sure whether Starteam 2008 is incompatible with Teamcity or if I am missing something in the configuration.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Suprajha.

Hello Suprajha,

I've checked StarTeam SDK 10 with TeamCity and it works quite well. TeamCity
doesn't properly determine the SDK version though, but this just causes a
warning in the test connection dialog, which isn't a fatal problem. All I
did is installed the SDK10 and replaced the old starteamXX.jar with starteam100.jar.

In your case the error message indicates that TeamCity couldn't find the
required SDK classes in the classpath.
Please check again you've put the proper file in the proper location.

Thank you.

Thanks Sergey.

I am sure I had placed the starteam100.jar in the right location. However I saw java.io exceptions in the log files, so I re-installed the latest JRE and StarTeam SDK and ensured my PATH variable reflects the correct location of the files.

I am able to run builds using teamcity now.

Thanks for your response, without your input I would have been left wondering whether it was failing just for me or everyone.
