Subversion server reqd?

Hi All,

May be this is a silly question..

We are planning to make use of SVN as a VC system. We have hosted our applications on collabnet and my doubt is whether installation of Subversion server required explicitly on every development environment?

Thanks in advance!!

The server? No. For individual developer workstations (and probably Teamcity build agent servers) you would just need to install the Subversion client on each machine. Tigris tends to package everything together, but when you run the installer you can tell it what to install.

Teamcity may not need a Subversion client installed separately, as I think it packages one internally. I'll let the Jetbrains developers answer that more firmly, though.

Correct, TeamCity installation (both agent and server) does not require Subversion installed, because it uses pure-java SVNKit library for Subversion access.
