separate branches from trunk build?
I'm currently building files within a trunk. If I create a branch I would like for the current build not to include the branch. How would I do this?

Do you mean the trunk build should not get the sources corresponding toi the branch?
You can usually do this with the help of [checkout rules|http://www.jetbrains.net/confluence/display/TCD4/VCS+Checkout+Rules].
If you need more help please note the version control system that you use and any additional details that are relevant.
