Support for MS SQL Server 2008 64bit?

We're looking to migrate our backend from Oracle to MS SQL Server and just need to know the specifics of which version(s) are supported.

I know TeamCity supports MS SQL Server 2008 but does that include the 64bit R2 version as well?

Hi Dan Greene,

TeamCity supports MS SQL 2008 including R2 not matter 32bit or 64bit.

One question - what was the reason to migrate?

Thanks,
Leonid

Leonid,

Thank you for the quick response. We're doing it purely from a cost perspective. The required Oracle licenses are much more expensive than the SQL Server licenses.

Is it safe to assume this should be completely transparent to users? Meaning, we'll get the same performance from SQL Server as we did from Oracle?

Regards,
Dan

Hi Dan,

I believe the performance will be the same. TeamCity doesn't use complex vendor-specific features of RDBMS.

P.S. don't forget to get a reserved copy,
see http://confluence.jetbrains.net/display/TCD5/TeamCity+Data+Backup for details.

Best regards,
Leonid
