Project not visible and no notifications

We have a new project with only one build for the moment that works fine except for two things:

1. I have it set to show on my overview page along with a few other projects/builds; however, it does not display.  I can go up to the projects menu and click the project and it opens normal.
2. I have it set to receive an email and windows tray notification when any build fails with my changes as well as any build in this particular project fails but I do not get these notifications.  I get notifications from other builds just fine.

Any ideas?
