TC Upgrade error 6.5.5 to 7.0.3 with SQLServer external database

Hi,

I'm trying to run an upgrade of TC from 6.5.5 to 7.0.3 on a test machine before making the upgrade on our production machine.

We currently have 6.5.5 installed and is working with an external database which is SQLServer 2008R2.

I have taken a backup of the database and the data and installed the same version 6.5.5 on the test machine from the back up. This comes up fine as expected and I see all the configurations etc as per the production machine the only differnce being on the test machine i have SQLServer 2012. All good.

I then perform the upgrade by running the installer 7.0.3 and after the new version is installed i see the upgrade begin in the web interface. I get prompted in the web interface about the details and then proceed with the upgrade at which point it fails with the an error

Unexpected exception SQLServerException: SQL error when doing: Querying for a single value SQL query: select count(*) from trace_xe_action_map SQL exception: Invalid object name 'trace_xe_action_map'.

I don't see this entityin the database either before the upgrade or after the upgrade falls over.

Please can you help? I've also attached the server log.

Thanks
Doug

Hi Douglas

Current version of TeamCity does not support Microsoft SQL Server 2012 yet.
These compatibility issues will be resolved in next version 7.1.
Please vote/watch for requast TW-20749 to be notified on updates.

Hi,

Thanks for the prompt response. Voted!

I must have missed that SQLServer 2012 isnt yet supported. Just tried the upgrade on 2008R2 and that seemed to go fine.

Thanks
Doug
