Elastic Agent License for Elastic Cloudec

I was wondering if there is or you are planning to have a special license plan for agents running in the cloud.
amazon cloud provide us as many machine as we need on demand, paying whatever we use, just at the time we use them.
but teamcity agents have to be paid upfront, for a fixed number of agents we do not know if they will be enough, or too many.
It will be good to have as many agents as we need at anytime, and pay as we use them.

Salva,

We are considering alternative licensing approaches, but no definite plans or timeframes so far.

Speaking of different optinos, do you have suggestions on the possible licensing?

For example, if it were an additional charge for an agent image/hour starting at $0.30 instead of $300 perpetual agent license, would it be a good deal?

some options I'm thinking may be

- pay per extra agent/hour used,
but not sure how much, $300 month is about $0.03 cent an hour, paying x10 times ~ $0.30 cents may be ok...
in the other hand, amazon charges $0.34 cents/hour for a large linux machine, which includes hardware, electicity, software and stuff. something for you to consider as well.

- license not number of agents, but hours of agents
ie, instead of license 5 agents, license the corresponding 40K hours of agent usage on a year.
it's up to the user to balance the usage of those hours, independent of the number of agents used at a point

- consider loweing the cost of agents on volume
something like
$300 per agent for the first 10
$200 for the next 20
$100 for the next 50

- a license for unlimited number of agents

Salva,

Thank you for your considerations.
We are preparing 6.5 now (due in several month) so it is too late for licensing change, however we will probbaly come up with something new in the area in 7.0.
