TeamCity not sending notification email

Hi there,

I am trying to configure TeamCity to send out messages to our developers when a build fails.

I've setup the Email Notifier in the Administration tab, however when a build fails I do not receive an email.

I am using sendgrid, and there does not seem to be any "send email" requests appearing in there.

I've tried narrowing it down to a few possible causes:

  1. Invalid email addres - changed to my personal email address and still seemed to have no luck.
  2. The build wasn't actually failing - changed it to email me on the start of a build.
  3. An error is being generated - I have chacked the notification log file and no errors seem to be appearing.
  4. There is an issue with TeamCity - I restarted the service, no luck.

Any help would be really great, I'm sure it must be me...not TeamCity.

Thanks,
Rich

Hello Richard,

can you please try to send test email (Test connection) on the Email notifier configuration page? We can then narrow possible problems... Can you also send the server log?

Hi Zdenek,

The test connection works fine for me.

Which server log would you like to look at?

Thanks for your reply.

Please run the build and send teamcity-server.log, teamcity-notifications.log. Do you get emails under other circumstances i.e. Build is successful or there is no functioning option at all?

Ok,

We seem to be getting emails now.. but not quite the ones we expect.

I guess this is down to my configuration, but guess this case is no longer relevant...

Thanks for your help.
