Wishlist

Answered

Hi,

Here's my wishlist after using TC relatively often over the last couple of years.

1. i would like to be able to copy several build steps at once from one build configuration to another instead of having to copy one by one.

2. i would like to be able to enable/disable a group of build steps instead of going and disabling/enabling one by one.

3. I have a rather large screen (32") and the edit boxes are very small compared to the size of the screen. Most of the commands are on two lines and extremely difficult to read.. Some of them can be resized, some cannot. For example, the paramters screen for Runner type msbuild cannot be resized

If required I can send print screens. It's a terribly unfriendly behaviour.

4. Would it be possible to have the steps numbered in a build configuration, e.g. in front of th e"Build step" column put a # column and number the steps? (nice to have)

5. Would it be possible to use variables in build steps names? I use templates and I would like to be able to pass a variable into the build step name.

Let's say env.SomeFunnyUniqueVariableName with a value of "My project" and use it  in the Build step name "NuGet for %env.SomeFunnyUniqueVariableName%

6. Adding an optional comment section for each build step would be great. I just revisited a configuration I put in place two years ago and I couldn't remember why all the parameters were the way they were. Lost the whole weekend experimenting in order to find out .

7 Passing passwords with dashes or dots to msbuild doesn't work. I can provide test cases and already had a discussion in the past with a support person. It's extremely annoying to have to change passwords on machines because of this issue. Since the build takes place on AWS, I cannot easily retrieve a lost password if it is manually changed.

Thanks

Dan
