Windows Tray Notifier crash after TeamCity 2017.2 upgrade

After the upgrade to TeamCity 2017.2 the subsequent Windows Tray Notifier update now causes constant crashing.

This has happened for all of my colleagues and is not isolated to a single user.


I have noticed the following:

It will work once if run as administrator, but then crash on startup the next time it is run.

For some users it worked after uninstalling the notifier and re-installing, but only the first launch. Subsequent times it crashes on startup.

The log files for the Tray Notifier end in "Loggin in..." (user credentials have not changed and there is no issue logging in via the IntelliJ plugin)



Has anyone else seen this, and does anyone have a solution?
