Reinstall TeamCity and connect to existing external database
Answered
Our dedicated build laptop got corrupted and needed to be re-imaged. Windows 10. We previously had TeamCity installed and connected to an external database. We downloaded the same version of TeamCity (9.0.2), went through the install using the Windows installer, and got to the Database connection setup part of the install. We selected Oracle, loaded the JDBC drivers successfully, and entered our database information. TeamCity then found the database, but displayed this message:
Found a TeamCity schema when expected an empty database
Do we need to delete all objects from the database before proceeding, or is there a way to reconnect to our existing database?

Hello Bill,
Both TeamCity data directory on the disk and the database which TeamCity uses must remain in a consistent state. Are you able to restore data dir from the corrupted disk. If not, then the solution is to restore from the backup. If you do not have backup, you would need to start with clean data directory and database.
