TestComplete and TeamCity Integration

Answered

Hi,

I use TestComplete for our desktop application automation and TeamCity for CI.  I run my TestComplete tests on TeamCity by using TestExecute SessionCreator.exe command line. After running my tests on TeamCity through command line, how will I communicate back to the TeamCity environment to able to show the test results (pass or fail) on the TeamCity build log?

Thank you for your answers.

Hi,

there are multiple options. If your TestComplete tool generates standard XML formats, you can add them here: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/teamcity/xml-report-processing.html . If it puts out html reports, you can add them as explained here: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/teamcity/including-third-party-reports-in-the-build-results.html . Both of this methods will require the build to export the results of the tests somehow and teamcity will parse them at the end

If not, you can try to put out messages about the tests to stdout by using service messages that will be read by the server as soon as the messages arrive at the server: https://www.jetbrains.com/help/teamcity/service-messages.html#Reporting+Tests
